ExperienceChange: GlobalTech – Fall 2008 Update
We’re very pleased to announce the release of an update to the ExperienceChange: GlobalTech simulation. Reviews of the Flash-based version released almost six months ago have been very positive. That said, there are always ways to make it better – and your feedback has driven this latest release:
Stakeholder Tab
What we heard: “What do the numbers next to the stakeholders represent?”
What we did: We added a roll over explanation for the numbers in the stakeholder mapping screen (ie. current buy-in level, last buy-in change)
Tactics Tab
What we heard: “The Type column (Informational, Social etc…) is confusing.”
What we did: This was a hold-over from the previous version of ExperienceChange. Many facilitators commented that it added very little value and as such we have now simplified the interface by removing the “Type” column from tactics list, planner and feedback tabs.
What we heard: “It would be great if all of the tactics had some sort of qualitative feedback (stakeholder message) in addition to the existing quantitative (scoring) feedback.”
What we did: We’ve added stakeholder feedback to the few tactics that did not have qualitative feedback. Players should now receive some sort of stakeholder message for every decision that they make.
What we heard: “Users find the Stakeholder Mapping tactic to be difficult to implement.”
What we did: We’ve completely reworked the Stakeholder Mapping tactic to allow for a quicker and more engaging way to map resistance to change.
Planner Tab
What we heard: “When I exited the game I lost everything in the Planner.”
What we did:
- We added a warning message to the bottom of the planner to inform players that the planner does Not save on game exit.
- Upon exit a popup window will appear to remind players that the planner does not save on game exit.
What we heard: “Some participants have found that moving tactics around in the Planner can be time consuming.”
What we did: We’ve re-engineered the Planner drag and drop tool to make it faster and more reliable.
Debrief Tab
What we heard: “Can we continue playing the game after 60% has been reached?”
What we did: The ‘end of game’ popup window now highlights to users that they can continue to play after 60% has been reached.
What we heard: “The blue in the ‘when overlay’ graph is too light.”
What we did: We changed the gradient from blue-white to black-white for better visibility.
What we heard: “Wait times are long to load a game from the Debrief tab.”
What we did: We have reduced the wait times!
Facilitator Tab
What we heard: “I’d really love to monitor my teams’ progress from one screen.”
What we did: For this popular request, we created the ‘Horse Race’ feature available within the Facilitator’s Tab of the login gateway. The Horse Race allows you to monitor the teams’ progress live, while they play!
What we heard: “Why can’t we view the team scores from the facilitator tab?”
What we did: Great question. Now you can easily view your teams’ High Scores from within your Facilitator’s tab.
We’ll continue to add new features over the coming months – foremost of which will be updated reporting functionality for player’s decisions.
Please continue to submit your feedback directly from the Feedback link on the GlobalTech website, or send us an email at support@experiencepoint.com
We hope you enjoy this update!

Thank you for sharing the feedback and the assoicated changes you’ve made to the simulation. This information will assist me in preparing for an ExperienceChange simulation that I’m facilitating next week.
