Can you make Lakeview ‘lean’?

We’re pleased to announce the launch of a new simulation: ExperienceChange Lakeview!

The Simulation

Lakeview's Stakeholder Map

Lakeview's Stakeholder Map

The CEO of Lakeview Regional Hospital calls for change after a patient is forced to wait eleven hours before being seen by a doctor in the emergency department. Players lead an initiative to reduce patient wait times in the emergency department and increase patient satisfaction by implementing lean practices. Provided with a limited budget and a deadline, players must interview key stakeholders, manage risks unique to health care, and implement change tactics to build stakeholder buy-in for lasting, successful change.

Mapping Lakeview's Value Stream

Lakeview introduces lean management practices in the context of health care. By focusing on eliminating “waste” activities that detract from delivering value to the customer, Lakeview can increase efficiency in its emergency department using its current resources. Lean principles have been successfully applied in a range of manufacturing and service organizations resulting in dramatic increases in efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About ExperienceChange

Effecting lasting change in an organization is a significant challenge.  Your initiatives may address the root of your issues, but without stakeholder support, interest in your ideas will eventually fade and your organization is likely to repeat its mistakes. ExperienceChange simulations show you how to apply best practices in change management and strategies for building the support necessary for successful change.
